The wine estate

We, the Haider family, are now in our third generation of winemakers growing grape vines here at the Rosenhof. Since our grandparents started the cultivation back in 1947, a lot of development has taken place. Although the original agriculture has not existed since 1969, in exchange, the hotel and restaurant were added to the estate over the course of the years. This allows us to share our passion for outstanding wines and pleasurable dining with our guests.
HAND-PICKED QUALITY

Our wine varieties

Our selection of wines ranges all the way from the light, dry Welschriesling, to the barrique-aged Blaufränkisch, to sweet wines. Our speciality are noble, naturally sweet Beerenauslese (vintage wines from selected grapes) and Trockenbeerenauslese (highly-ranked dessert wines from selected shriveled grapes), as well as Eiswein (from grapes frozen on the vine).

The grapes for our wines are hand-picked in the vineyard and carefully selected in order to guarantee high quality.

FOR OUR GRAPES

A special climate

The grapes for our wines thrive on 16 ha of vineyards situated in optimum locations, with sandy, gravelly and loamy soils. In combination with the favourable and warm climate of the “Seewinkel” region, this creates optimum conditions for the pressing of noble wines.

OUR WINES

Red, white and sweet

Half of our vineyards are planted with various red wine varieties, consisting primarily of Zweigelt, St. Laurent and Blaufränkisch. When it comes to white wines, we mainly produce the types Welschriesling, Chardonnay and Muskat.

UTMOST QUALITY

Tradition & handwork

Our grapes are harvested by hand and meticulously selected in the vineyard to ensure that we achieve high quality. Before the wine makes its way to the bottle, it matures in traditional oak barrels and high-quality stainless steel tanks. In this way, with care and patience, we help bring our wines to perfection.
